FHFA & the GSEs Announce
UAD 3.6 Policy Updates

 

Today, September 30, 2026, in a joint announcement by the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) and the Government Sponsored Enterprises (GSEs) - Fannie Mae® and Freddie Mac, lenders may apply for a UAD 3.6 extension. Check out the complete announcement HERE. 

How This Announcement May Impact You

  • The November 2, 2026, mandate remains in full effect. Lenders are expected to execute their implementation plans for UAD 3.6.
  • Appraisers may not see as much UAD 3.6 volume immediately depending on how many lenders apply for this extension. 
  • Confirm your lenders have met UAD 3.6 requirements before accepting UAD 3.6 orders.
  • Prepare to support UAD 2.6 & UAD 3.6 through May 2027.
  • Update pricing for UAD 3.6 forms. 
  • Continue to develop UAD 3.6 proficiency.
  • Verify you are working in the most current version of your forms software.
